Red Scooter wedding venue

Circle of Love Weddings recently had the pleasure of styling a photo shoot at the Red Scooter wedding venue in Balaclava, Melbourne.

Being so close to Melbourne, this sought after venue is the perfect location to have your wedding ceremony and reception all in the one venue.

Red scooter is an impressive, unique wedding location in Melbourne with its New York styled function room including modern furnishings and signature centrepieces. Whether you are wanting an small intimate wedding or have a large guest list, the wedding coordinators at Red Scooter will work with you to create the best package to suit your style.

The wedding ceremony is conducted downstairs in the function room where the venue will provide amazing ghost chairs and grey carpet runner. Having a separate space for the ceremony is a great plan as the guests can then get a great surprise when they go upstairs for the reception.

Other styling options can include a wedding arch or pillars with flower arrangements and aisle decorations such as white orchids along the runner. The curtains along the back wall can either be opened or remain closed for the duration of the ceremony.

Black Rock Beach Weddings

Black Rock beach weddings are becoming more and more popular due to the private location and close proximity to Melbourne.

Black Rock is located only 18 kilometres south east of Melbourne, along Port Phillip Bay. Lying between Sandringham and Beaumaris, Black Rock is only a very small suburb and can be easily missed. Black Rock beach is in Half Moon Bay which is home to the Black Rock Yacht Club. Its a relatively private beach as it is hidden by cliffs from the road and many visitors would not know it existed. There is a large ramp from the car park which leads straight on to the beach.

Although it can get quite windy, we had a relatively calm day and provided a bamboo wedding canopy and a few chairs for our small beach wedding, with our couple being from overseas. We also provided an area for guests to take their shoes off and leave in a basket prior to walking on the sand.

The only negative aspect is the large amount of algae on the beach, which we managed to remove from the ceremony area, but there are ample photo opportunities at Black Rock beach and in the surrounding suburbs.

In order to have your wedding at Black Rock beach, you must obtain a permit from the Bayside City Council. The cost of the permit is between $450 and $500 and is for a 2 hour time period. There is ample parking for your guests as the beach is located right near the Black Rock Yacht Club and long pier.

Carlton Gardens wedding

Congratulations to Elissa and Leigh who had their Carlton Gardens wedding on the 24th of October 2015.

Carlton Gardens in located right in the middle of Melbourne’s CBD with views of the Exhibition building.

Elissa chose a beautiful large tree on lawn 12 as the backdrop for their wedding ceremony and chose quite a simple package as the lush gardens speak for themselves.

Shade can sometimes be an issue in public places as although there are lots of trees, they don’t always work as a place for guests to stand under at the ceremony. We worked together to create the best possible package to keep things simple but also considering the guests. We came up with the following wedding ceremony equipment:

  • White Americana chairs
  • White aisle runner
  • Signing table with cloth and 2 chairs
  • 2 x White market umbrellas for shade
  • 20 x White parasols to provide additional shade
  • 2 x Ice buckets on stands with 25 bottles of water in each
  • 3 x welcome easels to direct guests to ceremony area

In order to have your wedding ceremony at Carlton Gardens, a permit must be obtained from the City of Melbourne at a small cost. Click here to apply for a permit now.

It is also advised to have a wet weather option in place in case of rain as there are no wet weather options at Carlton Gardens. Normally this is the reception venue, but we can work with you to arrange an alternative.

From start to end, we will be there to not only set up and pack up, but coordinate the ceremony from ushering guests, to cueing bridesmaids and bride to music. We will arrange a complimentary consultation as well as a site inspection to ensure that your day is everything you dreamed.
